Morgan a buccaneer who seeks revenge for her father's death seeks the treasure of Cutthroat Island. She has been joined by the young William Shaw, a runaway slave on her ship, with whom she takes to Cutthroat Island. Ignored by the other pirates as a woman with no seamanship, she is proved wrong and becomes a valued member of the crew. William comes to care for Morgan and he is also in love with her. But Morgan has also been a buccaneer, and knows a map bearing a treasure of gold. But in landing on Cutthroat Island, the pirates are separated and William, on his horse, cannot find Morgan. Morgan is pursued through treacherous waters by a salty old sea dog, shipwrecked, and ultimately captures by Dawg Brown, her nemesis and uncle. In a fierce battle of pirates, sea, and humans, Morgan says her final farewell to this world, and turns the remaining pirates over to Dawg, who has her executed. In the process of saving Morgan's life, William is separated from her and almost drowns, and awakens weeks later to find Morgan dead and the treasure gone. The film was made for $36.6 million and not as good as some of the big budget items that didn't fair as well. It was a hit in Europe, but not in the states, so there were no sequels so now the cast regrouped as Morgan Adams and played different roles.
The flawless blend of romance, comedy, suspense and adventure makes this movie stimulating, entertaining and memorable. At the same time, it presents an interesting picture of the colorful escapades of the buccaneers of the renowned Henry Morgan. 7211a4ac4a
